Russell Hoops’ February Half-Term Basketball camp sell out!
February’s school half-term basketball camp was a great success. 45 players across Hertfordshire came together for three full fun-packed days of Basketball.
The camp ran from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with campers being put into three groups based on their age and ability: BBL, ACB and NBA. Campers then took part in a variety of stations working on all aspects of the game, fitness testing, and, finally, a tournament to finish putting what they learnt into practice.
Russell Hoops Camp Director had this to say:
“I am particularly pleased with how the camp went over this half-term. There was a fantastic display of basketball on show and all campers gave it their all over the three days. Our coaching staff were impressed with the attitude of all campers. You could feel the atmosphere, every player just wanted to improve their game and really took advantage of the coaches’ experience. They had a thoroughly good time!“
The camp ended with a presentation. Our coaches gave awards for the following categories:
Coaches’ player: David Savin
Most improved player: Charlie Carr
Most potential player: Jonathan Hopkins
Most valuable player: Richard Platt
There was also an “ALL STAR” team selection. The coaches chose five players that had showed not only their ability on the court, but fantastic leadership skills and a great attitude for the game. This award went to the following campers:
The ALL STAR 5: Stepthen Moore, Hamadee Taousi, Luke O’Mahony, Daniel Morton and Melanie George.
NEXT CAMP: Russell Hoops will be running two three-day camps in the Easter Holidays.
Camp One: 2ND to the 4TH April; and
Camp Two: 10TH to the 12TH April.
